Job summary

Materion Corporation is hiring a Project Engineering Manager in Elmore, OH. You will lead the Project Engineering organization, develop staff, set priorities, and remove barriers to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project delivery.

You will directly manage large capital projects and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to optimize performance. The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 12–15 years of engineering, manufacturing, or capital project experience.
• Proven experience leading technical personnel and large capital projects.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Excellent project management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Financial acumen with experience managing capital budgets and project portfolios.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
• Up to 15% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct large and complex capital projects from concept to closeout.
• Lead an engineering staff and coordinate departmental activities.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate personnel.
• Balance resources across multiple projects and priorities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Plant Leadership to resolve issues.
• Ensure safety, quality, and financial objectives are met.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with the Portfolio Manager to align with strategic priorities.
