Job summary

Tharp Consulting in Bloomington, IN seeks an experienced engineer to support early feasibility studies, develop project strategies, and coordinate departmental activities for Project A00. You will manage maturation of components, processes, equipment, and training through T Stage builds and assist with mass production startup planning.

Job description

Role Overview:

Support early feasibility studies, develop project strategies, and coordinate departmental activities based on Project A00. Manage maturation of components, processes, equipment, and training through T Stage build events, and assist with mass production startup planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business plans, align with Honda's future vision, and set targets linked to schedules
• Investigate new manufacturing technologies and specifications
• Support drawing reviews, virtual builds, and mentor project teams on weld characteristics
• Evaluate design changes, share impact on production, and prepare reports
• Coordinate build activities, track issues, and mentor teams on part sorting and VIN entry
• Lead feedback summaries, support shutdown builds, and review project milestones
• Maintain meetings to monitor progress on equipment, standards, and training

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably CATIA), Honda design systems, and cost management

Work Conditions

Ability to lift 20 lbs, operate tools, travel as needed, and work various shifts including weekends.
