Job summary

Aqua Texas, part of Essential Utilities, is seeking a Project Engineer III to lead capital improvement projects across the East Texas region and coordinate with stakeholders to develop robust solutions, justify expenditures, forecast budgets, and track progress for reliable water and wastewater services.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, Texas PE, 6+ years in water/wastewater, and strong project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in the State of Texas or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
• 6+ years of professional experience in Water and/or Wastewater and budget management of projects over $1M.
• Project Management experience preferred, PMI Certification a plus.
• Current Driver’s License and ability to drive to project sites within the assigned region, as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project delivery from planning through construction and commissioning.
• Manage third party consulting design firms and contract documents.
• Oversee scope and quality of work to meet design concepts and standards.
• Serve as a technical resource for water/wastewater design and planning needs.
• Support Capital Planning and asset management processes across the State.
• Represent Aqua Texas at regulatory workshops and industry forums.
