Essential Utilities, Inc. operates Aqua Texas, delivering water and wastewater services across the state.

The Project Engineer III will support capital improvement projects in the East Texas region, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient project delivery. The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering background with a Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within six months) and 6+ years of relevant experience, including project budgeting and design

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
6+ years of professional experience in Water and/or Wastewater and budget management of projects over $1M.
Wastewater experience preferred.
PMI Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide direct project management support in the design and construction management of capital projects.
Manage third party consulting design firms and prepare technical, bidding and contractual documents.
Oversee scope and quality of work to meet standards for capacity, performance, reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate with Operations Teams to optimize treatment processes and apply new technologies.
