Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Engineer Project Engineer (PE) / Technical Program Manager (TPM) for a Cedar Rapids, IA team. You will lead engineering efforts, manage schedules and budgets, and drive EVM analyses for mission critical programs with U.S. government customers.

The role requires a STEM degree and 10+ years’ experience, active SECRET clearance, and strong PM/EV management skills in avionics and defense domains. Onsite work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Qualifications

• STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in avionics systems development, verification/validation, and interfaces
• Experience in PM, CAM, and earned value
• Experience in bid and proposals for defense (TINA compliant) bids
• Familiarity with Agile processes/methodologies

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technology and engineering focal point for leadership and the customer on various programs
• Guide engineering development in accordance with the Management Systems, Engineering Process, requirements, budget, and schedule
• Develops and monitors project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests adjustments
• Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis on assigned programs
• Lead development, planning and executing SETR events (PDR, CDR, TRR)
• Define and manage technical risks & opportunities and develop mitigation plans
• Provide guidance to multidisciplined teams and conduct trade studies
• Influence policies and procedures within the organization
• Coach, review, and delegate work to junior staff
• Staff projects with resource managers to ensure proper staffing
