Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is seeking a Senior Manager Systems Engineering for our Rancho Bernardo, CA facility. You will oversee the Maritime Systems Engineering Department, driving technical performance, schedule adherence, and quality goals across programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field, with 13+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct all activities of the unit(s), planning and managing technical performance to meet objectives.
• Participate in contract negotiations, proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Act as primary contact for the unit’s activities and lead review sessions on costs, schedules, and performance.
• Establish system engineering concepts, criteria and efforts for product research, development, integration and testing.
• Develop and monitor master plans and milestones, ensuring adherence to schedules.
• Identify engineering issues and lead solutions such as resource reallocation or contract changes.
• Develop long-term objectives for programs/projects and pursue new business opportunities.
• Lead talent planning, recruitment, and development for technical staff.
