Job summary

Air Products in Long Beach, California is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support capital projects, strategic and turnaround planning, and turnaround execution. The role involves 25–45% travel within the West Region (U.S.) and potential international travel.

Responsibilities include leading outage scope through planning and construction, ensuring schedule and cost targets, and coordinating safety and field management with contractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of maintenance and/or engineering experience, preferably with industrial outages.
• Engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Construction.
• Ability to read P&IDs, ISO standards, piping isometrics, and pipe specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned portion of outage scope through planning and construction.
• Ensure site construction aligns with project schedule, cost, and metrics.
• Create detailed planning activities in P6 for each work order, including tasks, durations, and BOMs.
• Complete material takeoffs for requisitioning and purchasing, with field verification.
• Provide contractor field management, safety, timesheet verification, and QC oversight.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks and participate in Safe Work Permitting with Operations.
