Job summary

Impact Housing is seeking a Project Engineer to assist in office and field engineering activities, coordinating information and authorizations to construct modular multifamily projects. Based in San Diego, the role supports the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure timely buyouts, change orders, and documentation compliance.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering/construction management background with 5+ years in commercial/multi-family construction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial and/or podium multi-family construction required. Modular experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager to establish information flow, approvals, meetings, reporting, applications for payment with design professionals, consultants, and owner.
• Coordinate information flow with subcontractors and suppliers; support approvals, meetings and payment applications.
• Assist Project Manager to ensure timely buyouts and maintain schedule compliance.
• Assist Project Manager in administering change orders and documenting updates.
• Prepare and disseminate project documentation records.
• Assist in studies, recommendations, or materials/methods and cost estimates during development.
• Review documents for constructability and identify design deficiencies or code violations for resolution.
• Support project close-out including guarantees, acceptance, final payment, and records retention.
• Quality control and project closeout; implement safety programs on the project.
