Job summary

Senior Project Engineer at Sundt Construction will serve as the technical source of information for the project, with deep knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will respond to questions about drawings, specs, shop drawings and changes, while maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

This role supports supervision or training of Field Engineers and operates within Sundt's culture of employee-owners.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead a multi-discipline team.
• Ability to supervise and/or train Field Engineer positions when required.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan and change management process; ensure effective execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with the project CPM schedule; review submittals.
• Understand contracts and budgets; manage cost control and maintain logs and reports.
• Maintain as-built documents; compile close-out requirements including manuals and warranties.
• Participate in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork and utilities as needed.
• Plan and supervise project team to ensure relentless execution and coordination.
• Prepare change orders, time extensions, and distribute documents to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims to prevent or resolve issues promptly.
