Job summary

Actalent is seeking a customer-focused Project Engineer to lead mechanical design initiatives and drive production-ready solutions. You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs, coordinate requirements, and develop detailed engineering documentation for timely production release.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, drawing creation, BOM development, and close collaboration with production to ensure cost-conscious, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
• Understanding of CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with design for manufacturability and design for assembly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers and projects.
• Gather and clarify customer requirements, including function, performance, budget, schedule, and design intent.
• Manage projects from initial concept through design approval, quoting, production release, and manufacturing support.
• Create accurate 3D CAD models for components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies.
• Develop complete 2D drawings and production release packages for manufacturing.
