Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Engineer to support complex manufacturing projects from customer requirements and quoting through to manufacturing, quality, and delivery. You will liaise between customers and multiple internal teams, review drawings, determine methods, and develop processes and work instructions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Project and Manufacturing Process Engineering within a machining environment.
• Experience reviewing RFQs and leading projects from RFQ to post job review.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Strong technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience creating and modifying fixture and process drawings and manufacturing docs.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings and requirements to determine manufacturing needs.
• Develop manufacturing plans, routings, work instructions, and processes.
• Support projects from RFQ through contract review, release, manufacturing, and post-job review.
• Prepare estimates and technical inputs for new RFQs (material, machining, fabrication, tooling).
• Conduct technical contract reviews to reflect requirements in plans.
• Develop work-order material requirements and manufacturing instructions.
• Establish manufacturing sequences for complex, tight-tolerance parts.
• Collaborate with CNC, fabrication, CAD/CAM, materials, QA, and production to resolve issues.
• Interpret GD&T and engineering drawings; modify documentation as needed.
• Maintain part hierarchies, drawings, and electronic job records.
• Lead or participate in job-release meetings and technical reviews.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding materials, tooling, and outside processes.
• Communicate project status, risks, and manufacturing concerns to stakeholders.
