Job summary

Teal Energi seeks a Senior Project Engineer for an LNG liquefaction expansion on the owner's side. Houston-based with travel to Beaumont/Port Arthur; leads early engineering, procurement, and regulatory work through FID and EPC execution.

Candidate will review owner deliverables, join key meetings, and may specialize in HAZOPs, regulatory reviews, and technical risk management. Direct-hire opportunity with growth across sites through 2031 and beyond.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience with 3–5 years in a Project Engineer role.
• Owner/operator-side EPC contractor management experience preferred.
• LNG project experience on capital expansions desired.
• Familiarity with NFPA 59A, 49 CFR 193, FERC/PHMSA/DOT/OSHA/USCG regs desirable.
• PE license preferred.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide owner oversight of the EPC contractor focusing on safe execution.
• Review, challenge, and approve Basis of Design, P&IDs, and execution plans.
• Manage multidiscipline engineering work and coordinate deviations.
• Support MOC processes, review change orders, and ensure current drawings.
• Support HAZOPs, PHAs, 3D model reviews, and constructability reviews.
• Support regulatory and permitting activities including FERC/PHMSA reviews.
• Provide owner oversight at FATs, P&ID walkdowns, and milestones on site.
• Assess technical risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regs, standards, and HSSE requirements.
• Participate in progress meetings and help develop project standards.
