Job summary

The engineer oversees budgets, submittals, shop drawings, and close-out records while coordinating with architects, subcontractors, and owner representatives. Strong leadership and communication skills are required, with BIM and LEAN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years' related experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Architects, Subcontractors, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors and Owner's Representatives to resolve plan and spec issues.
• Oversee and align drawings and subcontract information with the estimate.
• Manage project budget and submittals; review shop drawings and conformance to contract specs.
• Negotiate Change Orders and analyze changes with stakeholders; obtain approvals.
• Oversee close-out process with RFIs, warranties, OMs, and as-builts; ensure contract compliance.
• Supervise Engineers, Assistants, Clerks and Interns; provide performance feedback.
• Prepare Scope of Work documents for trades; develop project reports and change-order logs.
• Schedule and lead subcontractor coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings and submittal reviews.
