Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee high voltage infrastructure design and provide oversight for the design team. You will support EPC proposals and bring extensive HV substation experience to the role.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical engineering background, a P.E. license, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
• B.S. or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• P.E. license required.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, with an understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
• Familiarity with process and procedures for project controls and estimates.
• Demonstrated experience supporting external customers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations or transmission lines.
• Ensure projects are on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards, including environmental and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and the public, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Oversee quality control procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship and materials.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Travel up to 10-25% of the time.
