Job summary

United Future is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a major transportation infrastructure program in Los Angeles. You will work with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and leadership to manage project controls, cost tracking, change management, contracts, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience on large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience with cost tracking and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the execution of large transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and project requirements.
• Track and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, Potential Change Orders, Owner Payment Applications, and Claims documentation.
• Assist with identifying changes in project scope and developing supporting documentation for compensation and schedule impacts.
• Monitor costs and maintain accurate cost and production reports.
• Assist with cost forecasting and financial reporting.
• Analyze labor costs, quantities, production, and project performance.
• Prepare and maintain quantity tracking and production reports.
• Coordinate with field operations to verify installed quantities and completed work.
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination, material tracking, and project documentation.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and other technical documentation.
• Research technical and quality control issues and coordinate solutions with project leadership.
• Verify completed construction complies with plans, specifications, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, owners, and other stakeholders.
• Support project scheduling, progress tracking, and short-term planning.
• Maintain organized project records and ensure documentation is current and accurate.
• Manage and coordinate project closeout requirements.
• Track punch-list items, as-built documentation, warranties, testing records, and final turnover documentation.
• Provide technical and administrative support to project leadership as required.
