Job summary

State of Wyoming is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Wyoming Military Department CFMO in Cheyenne. You will lead design and project management from concept to construction, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment for projects ranging up to $25 million.

Required is a Wyoming PE license within six months of hire and 5+ years in construction/project management. Excellent communication with stakeholders and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; PE license required within six months of hire.
• Minimum 5 years in construction or project management in engineering.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop scopes of work for construction projects with stakeholders.
• Prepare Independent Government Estimates (IGE) with costs and schedules.
• Review plans for technical merit and owner intent; coordinate with architects/designers.
• Manage budgets and approve payments to contractors/consultants.
• Coordinate contracts and amendments with contractors; oversee schedules and QA/QC.
• Mentor junior staff and prepare reports on project progress.
• Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and SOPs.
• Affix PE stamp to completed work.
