Job summary

The Wyoming Military Department's Construction and Facilities Management Office seeks a Principal Engineer in Cheyenne, WY to lead design and project management from concept through construction. This role manages budgets, schedules, and coordination with architects, contractors, and stakeholders on projects ranging up to $25 million.

Responsibilities include developing scopes, IGEs, reporting, and mentoring staff while ensuring compliance with environmental and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 2-4 years of progressive engineering experience; PE license required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop scopes of work for future construction projects with stakeholder coordination.
• Develop Independent Government Estimates (IGE) including cost and schedule estimates.
• Review plans/specs for technical merit, coordinate with architects to ensure function, sustainability and budget.
• Manage project budgets and authorize payments to contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate inspections, ensure QA/QC, and ensure projects meet plans and design criteria.
