Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation in Wheatland, WY seeks a Principal Engineer for our Construction Program. You will manage design through construction, supervise staff, coordinate with multiple agencies and landowners, and ensure projects meet budgets and specs.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering, 2-4 years of progressive experience and a PE license (WYPE within one year). A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered along with comprehensive state benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required at time of hire or within one year.
• 2-4 years of progressive engineering experience with project engineer level responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of highway construction and contract administration from design through construction.
• Coordinate with Federal, State, County, and City agencies, landowners and utilities.
• Prepare plans, quantities, estimates, and change orders; supervise staff and budget.
• Ensure projects comply with plans, specifications, design criteria and safety standards.
