Job summary

State of Wyoming’s Wyoming Department of Transportation in Cheyenne seeks an Engineer II to contribute across highway projects from inception through design, construction, and contract completion under guidance of the Resident Engineer.

The role involves plan reviews, field inspections, coordination with contractors and public stakeholders, and ensuring safety standards meet regulatory requirements. Bachelor's in engineering, 0–3 years’ experience, and EIT/FE certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 0–3 years of progressive engineering experience desired (Engineer I level).
• EIT or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Issue, review, and revise plan sets.
• Inspect projects to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineer and contractors for timely delivery.
• Review submittals, permits, and project documentation.
• Provide engineering recommendations and cost estimates as needed.
