Job summary

Valero Ardmore Refinery is seeking a Staff Project Engineer to provide technical leadership and manage capital projects from design through execution in a safe, cost-conscious manner.

You will develop cost estimates, prepare AFE and DRB documents, oversee budget control, and coordinate contract project managers to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of multiple projects while supporting outage activity and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering is required.
• 8 years of experience in engineering and project management is required.
• 3 years of exposure in a refinery/petrochemical environment is required.
• Able and willing to work on-site at the Valero Ardmore Refinery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, perform cost estimation and prepare/submit AFE and DRB documents for capital and expense projects.
• Understand and implement the budget, appropriations and project control processes for capital workload.
• Review and approve designs, budgets, project plans, schedules, resources, QA/QC procedures and reports.
• Recruit and oversee contract project managers.
• Track cost and schedule performance relative to the capital budget.
• Manage the capital project program spend without compromising schedule or performance.
• Prepare specifications and procure materials/equipment for timely execution of projects.
• Provide technical support to refinery departments for safe, cost-effective installations.
• Coordinate contract personnel for engineering, design and installation of projects.
• Cost tracking and status reporting for assigned projects.
