Job summary

Airgas Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of small capital projects (<$30M USD) within AMG. You will lead from FEED through execution and handover, ensuring safety, budget, quality, and schedule adherence while innovating engineering strategies to mitigate risks.

The role requires setting up robust design bases, SDs, BoD/BFD alignment, and FEED package development, with 30–40% travel to project sites nationwide. Location flexibility across the U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7+ years in continuous process plant design/capital projects, with 5+ years in industrial gas, cryogenic separation, or petrochemical industries.
• Preferred Owner's Representative experience managing external EPCm contractors and stage-gate reviews.

Responsibilities

• Embed Safety-by-design across engineering lifecycle stages and enforce project safety protocols.
• Align development and execution with organizational standards and regulatory codes.
• Collaborate on Project Risk Identification (PRI) and participate in PHA/HAZOP reviews and action item closure.
• Lead design reviews and oversee RFIs, change orders, and deliverables as Owner's technical representative.
• Drive cost transparency and value engineering while maintaining safety and quality.
• Oversee procurement support, FAT/SAT testing, and field handover to operations.
