Job summary

COPT Defense Properties is seeking an experienced Senior Technician/Project Engineer to provide technical leadership and direction across assigned properties in the United States. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and coordinating with tenants, vendors, and internal teams.

The candidate will read complex drawings, manage energy baselines, and supervise BAS systems while ensuring budgetary discipline and high service levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, plumbing or related areas.
• Universal CFC certification.
• State certified Journeyman/Stationary Engineer license or equivalent.
• State certified Master’s license preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years as a senior service technician or project engineer with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and provide work direction to technical staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain safety standards and compliance with government regulations.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings.
• Manage energy baseline, dashboards, and energy cost savings initiatives.
• Oversee BAS recommissioning and training platform.
• Maintain contract files and budgeting documentation.
