Job summary

Copt-Defense-Properties is seeking a Senior Building Technician to lead day-to-day building/portfolio technicians, troubleshoot complex systems, perform repairs, and ensure safety and proper maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and automation systems.

The role requires extensive technical credentials, leadership experience, and the ability to manage subcontractors, review work orders, and recommend improvements. On-site work in Maryland with on-call duties is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Universal CFC certification required
• State Certified Journeyman’s license or equivalent
• State Certified Master’s license or equivalent preferred
• MD 1st grade stationary license preferred
• Minimum nine years relevant experience as senior service technician
• Two years of experience providing work direction to others
• Basic PC skills and ability to learn company software

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day building/portfolio technicians and troubleshoot building systems
• Perform repairs and inspect systems to ensure proper maintenance
• Assist Chief Building Technician in training lower-level staff
• Review work orders and control expenditures within budget
• Provide operating and capital expenditure recommendations
• Supervise subcontractors and obtain pricing as needed
• Maintain safety codes and building automation systems knowledge
