Job summary

COPT Defense Properties is seeking a seasoned Building Operations leader to oversee essential facility systems, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance while managing budgets. You will supervise Building Technicians, recruit staff, and drive performance through coaching and training.

The role requires extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and facility automation systems, plus proven ability to coordinate with managers and vendors. On-site work with potential after-hours responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, plumbing, or related fields.
• State Certified Journeyman’s license or equivalent.
• State 1ST Grade Stationary Engineer license.
• Ten years of relevant senior-level service technician experience with 3–4 years of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work follows procedures for quality and safety within budget.
• Review and approve work orders; manage subcontractors; create preventative maintenance plans; QA/QC inspections; report to managers.
• Supervise Building Technicians; handle recruiting, salary admin, performance reviews, and terminations.
• Develop, evaluate, and train staff to maintain high technical competence.
