Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead advanced engine development initiatives in the United States. You will drive tactical leadership for engines projects, establish and enforce project engineering standards, and coordinate across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and validation teams.

The role requires US citizenship, onsite work, and up to 10% travel, with a focus on leadership, customer orientation, and strong communication skills in technical settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM required or 3 years with advanced degree.

• Prefer BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience leading teams and strong customer focus.
• Proficient in engineering presentation and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Act as tactical leader for advanced engines development tasks.
• Execute component- and module-level Project Engineering Standard work.
• Support engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and validation of technology development tasks.
• Lead a rig development team to meet task and technical requirements.
• Collaborate on part and rig system development.
• Recommend improvements and address project problems.
• Analyze data and develop solutions and recommendations.
• Communicate status and technical content to the CIPT.
• Perform CAM duties, tracking progress and obstacles.
• Coordinate sourcing with procurement, industrial, and manufacturing teams.
• Release product definitions timely; lead risk assessments.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide occasional technical mentoring.

• Act as tactical leader for advanced engines development tasks
• Execute component- and module-level Project Engineering Standard work
• Support engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and validation of technology development tasks
• Lead a rig development team to meet task and technical requirements
• Collaborate on part and rig system development
• Recommend improvements and identify and address project problems
• Analyze data and develop solutions and recommendations
• Communicate status and technical content to the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT)
• Perform Control Account Manager duties, tracking progress and resolving obstacles
• Integrate and manage sourcing activities with procurement, industrial, and manufacturing teams and internal/external supply chain
• Coordinate timely creation and release of product definition
• Lead risk assessments and risk mitigation planning
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide occasional technical mentoring

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Ability to work onsite
• Travel up to 10%
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred
• Demonstrated strong team leadership skills
• Demonstrated exceptional customer focus
• Excellent verbal communication, technical writing, and engineering presentation skills
• Aerospace/jet engine industry experience desirable
• Gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience desirable
• Experience in a team leader role or similar task leadership position
• Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, and MS Project
• Experience in Agile Project Management, including Scrum and Kanban
• Experience working with Jira
• Understanding of continuous improvement principles, including CORE and QCPC
• Proficiency with project management tools including SAP, EVMS, and Teamcenter
• Skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model
