Jobtailor is seeking a senior Engineer to lead Engineering Source Approval activities for aerospace manufacturing processes in Connecticut. You will collaborate with supplier engineering teams and internal QA, ENG, and purchasing groups to ensure rigorous, compliant qualifications of machining and special processes, including welding and brazing.

The role requires a technical engineering degree and substantial experience in aerospace manufacturing, with citizenship required for compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or Advanced Degree with related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years in quality/engineering/manufacturing/aerospace.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes used in gas turbine engine manufacture.
  • Experience with machining and special processes, especially welding and brazing.
  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney design, manufacturing, and ESA processes.

  • Develop standard work to strengthen manufacturing consistency.

Job description

  • Execute Engineering Source Approval activities for conventional machining and special processes, including milling, turning, grinding, drilling, broaching, welding, brazing, and surface treatments
  • Collaborate with supplier engineering teams and internal Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to complete process approvals, evaluate changes, and resolve technical variations
  • Manage approval schedules and resources to ensure timely, rigorous, and compliant qualifications of aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Review and validate process operation sheets, process monitoring methods, NDE techniques, and destructive metallurgical testing results
  • Analyze and document process performance
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Develop standard work to strengthen manufacturing consistency
Requirements
  • Technical Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, materials, or aerospace functions
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Broad knowledge of materials and processes used in gas turbine engine manufacturing
  • Experience with machining and special processes, particularly welding and brazing
  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney design, manufacturing, and quality systems and ESA processes
