KEITH is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist for our Pompano Beach, FL office. You will support executive leadership and PMs in scheduling, accounting, and documentation across civil engineering, surveying, and related services.

Responsibilities include developing detailed schedules, managing billing and forecasting, and maintaining comprehensive project records. The ideal candidate has a finance/accounting background and 5+ years in project controls within engineering or construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years in project controls, scheduling, accounting, or related role in engineering/construction.
• Proficiency with MS Project and Primavera; strong financial management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project or Primavera.
• Coordinate with PMs to monitor progress and adjust schedules.
• Manage project billing, accounts receivable, and consultant billing.
• Forecast labor, revenue, margins, and cost to complete.
• Prepare cost reports and analyze variances for stakeholders.
• Maintain project contracts, changes, and financial correspondence.

What you'll do:

The Senior Project Controls Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by assisting the executive leadership and project management team in managing project scheduling, accounting, and documentation.

Project Scheduling:

• Responsible fordeveloping and maintaining detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
• Coordinate with PMs to monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes
• Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of project milestones
• Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules and financial targets
• Analyze schedule and financial alignment, identify risks, and recommend corrective action.

Project Accounting:

• Responsible for project billing, accounts receivable and consultant billing.
• Validate complex contract components, including fee structures, retainage, revenue recognition, and billing requirements
• Lead financial forecasting, including labor, revenue, margin, cost to complete, and scenario building
• Oversee project billing, consultant invoicing, and subconsultant compliance.
• Assist in the development of project proposals with project team
• Assist in tracking project budgets and financial forecasts
• Prepare and analyze cost reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

Project Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, billing records, and financial correspondence
• Review contracts and amendments to ensure financial and billing requirements are properly reflected
• Ensure all project documents are organized and accessible
• Support the preparation of project closeout documentation, including final billing, reconciliation, and document archiving

What you'll need:

This position requires a strong background in finance, accounting, or administration, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and forward-learning environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 5 + years of experience in project controls, scheduling, accounting, documentationor a related role within Engineering, Architecture, or Constructionindustry
• Proficiency with project management software(e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and financial management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment
