Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Sr Mgr Project Controls – Risk in Washington, DC to lead risk, issue and opportunity management for complex programs. You will develop dashboards, risk registers and tooling in collaboration with Executives and PMO leaders, and supervise a controls team to ensure cost and schedule integrity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in project controls, with PMI certifications preferred. Onsite work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program team and leadership to build risk management strategy.
• Lead the Program team through risk, issue, and opportunity management.
• Integrate cost and schedule data as well as information for vendors and external entities to facilitate risk discussions
• Develop reporting mechanisms, dashboards and presentations about project performance indicators and feed this data to ensure a cohesive picture of the Project/program and/or portfolio.
• Drives evaluation and impact assessment of identified project risks to enable project team with applicable data for development of risk mitigation and contingency plans.
• Develops and maintains Program risk control tools and workflows.
• Partners closely with business partners to assess new and ongoing projects to determine readiness for governance stage gates.
• Supports Executive status review meetings, Governance and Change Control Boards.
• Manages Controls data via EPPM, SharePoint or any other approved EPMO systems and tools.
• Adheres to Amtrak Enterprise Project Management methodology.
