Job summary

KEITH Engineering Design in Pompano Beach, FL, is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support scheduling, accounting, and documentation for complex civil/engineering projects. The role emphasizes collaboration with executives and PMs to ensure project success.

The position requires a strong background in finance or administration, with proficiency in MS Project and Primavera, and a track record of managing project budgets, forecasts, and billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in project controls, scheduling, accounting, documentation or a related role within Engineering, Architecture, or Construction industry.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and financial management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project or Primavera.
• Coordinate with PMs to monitor project progress and update schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules and financial targets.
• Analyze schedule and financial alignment, identify risks, and recommend corrective action.
• Manage project billing, accounts receivable, and consultant billing.
• Lead financial forecasting, including labor, revenue, margin, cost to complete, and scenario building.
• Oversee project billing, consultant invoicing, and subconsultant compliance.
• Assist in the development of project proposals with project team
• Assist in tracking project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, billing records, and financial correspondence.
• Review contracts and amendments to ensure financial and billing requirements are properly reflected.
• Ensure all project documents are organized and accessible.
• Support the preparation of project closeout documentation, including final billing, reconciliation, and document archiving.
