Job summary

HNTB is seeking a seasoned Project Controls Lead to manage all controls aspects for the Metro Nashville CHYM program in Nashville, TN. You will oversee scheduling, cost estimating, risk management, document control, and reporting, coordinating with the Program Director, subconsultants, and stakeholders to deliver on time and on budget.

The role requires strong leadership of the project controls staff, development of procedures, and effective communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 8 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading project controls for large programs including scheduling, estimating, risk management, change management, and reporting.
• Proven ability to manage staff and multiple control disciplines (document control, cost/scheduling, CPMS).
• Experience coordinating with client leadership and stakeholders to deliver client needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage the project controls staff for the CHYM program, incl. budgeting, scheduling, document control, and risk management.
• Create and publish Project Controls Manuals, guidelines, and Monthly Progress Reports.
• Develop and maintain project controls procedures and work instructions.
• Supervise scheduling efforts: baseline, progress, specialty schedules, analysis, and progress reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of labor forecasts and cash flows.
• Oversee cost management: cost reports, templates, and monthly deliverables.
• Analyze variances in cost/schedule, identify trends, and propose corrective actions.
• Maintain and utilize project controls systems (PMCS, cost and scheduling systems).
• Develop cost estimating capability and supervise estimating efforts, including independent estimates.
• Lead development of automated information systems for cost/schedule reporting.
• Supervise document control: filing, archiving, and policy compliance.
• Produce weekly/monthly reports for client and PM staff, including contractor inputs.
• Support internal/external meetings with reports, analysis, and backup documentation.
• May recruit, hire, and develop staff for a small/medium controls team.
