Job summary

Hudbay Minerals is seeking a Sr Project Controls Lead for the Cactus Mine Project in the United States. You will lead cost engineering, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, forecasting, change management, and risk management across pre-feasibility to commissioning stages.

Strong leadership of EPCM teams and alignment with Hudbay standards are essential. Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in project controls within mining or heavy industrial sectors, with CCP/EVP/PSP or PMI PMP preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive project controls, cost engineering, and scheduling in mining/heavy industrial/EPCM with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• AACE CCP/EVP/PSP or PMI PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project controls framework, systems, processes, and tools across all Cactus Mine work packages.
• Oversee master schedule (Primavera P6), baseline budget, WBS, and CBS.
• Establish cost engineering processes: commitment tracking, cash flow forecasting, EVM, EAC updates.
• Manage Change (MOC) process for scope changes and contractor variations.
• Lead cost reporting, dashboards, monthly performance reviews, and board summaries.
• Direct EPCM and third-party project controls teams to Hudbay standards and reporting.
• Monitor commercial commitments, contractor invoicing, and contingency usage.
• Facilitate QSRA/QCRA to evaluate contingency adequacy and ERM reviews.
• Collaborate with finance to align CAPEX forecasts and tollgate deliverables.
