Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support U.S. projects with complex schedule and cost baselines.

You will collect and analyze monthly schedule and cost data, identify variances, and help with root‑cause analysis while ensuring compliance with federal requirements and internal controls. You will work with project teams to develop time‑phased forecasts, monitor spend, and deliver standard status reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; five years of related experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project management methods, budgeting, scheduling and cost control.
• Experience with federal/government regulations and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain time‑phased schedules and cost baselines for projects.
• Prepare earned value and cost performance reports for management and clients.
• Support project managers with risk analysis, forecasting and change impact assessments.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and contribute to process improvements.
