Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. This role focuses on developing complex schedule and cost baselines, collecting monthly data, and integrating risk reserves into forecasts.

You will prepare reports for stakeholders and ensure adherence to internal procedures and federal regulations. You will work with project teams and management to maintain schedules, track expenditures, and implement financial controls.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of project management, budget development, planning, control and assurance methodologies.
• Strong understanding of project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and schedules and develop WBS, schedules and resource plans.
• Experience with Earned Value Management and financial analysis.
• Ability to communicate findings to project managers and stakeholders clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts and validates costs.
• Maintains risk reserves and integrates them into forecasts.
• Produces earned value reports and discusses observations with portfolio managers.
• Analyzes variances and performs non-routine financial analyses as needed.
• Mentors junior staff and supports project teams on complex schedules.
