Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking a skilled Project Controller to support budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting for complex federal projects in a hybrid work environment. The role requires collaboration with project and operations teams to ensure timely financial closes and accurate forecasting.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in a related field, strong Excel skills, and experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, and SharePoint.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years experience in related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required.
• MS Excel Proficiency (VLOOKUP / SUMIF formulas, pivot tables).
• Experience with Federal Government contract types (Cost Plus, T&M, FFP).
• Understanding of EACs, ETCs, unbilled analysis, and core project financial concepts.
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated, proactive.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with budget development and forecasting.
• Maintains project setup in Deltek Costpoint and prepares PSFs.
• Monitors project actuals, burn rate and accruals.
• Reviews and approves invoices and manages subcontract/vendor payments.
• Generates financial reports and communicates project status monthly.
