Job summary

Gensler in New York, NY seeks a Project Architect to lead teams of architects and designers from concept to build on commercial development projects. You will coordinate with structural, MEP, lighting and AV disciplines, manage client relationships and drive project delivery with a focus on design excellence and constructability.

You will guide documentation, maintain standards, and support junior staff while ensuring schedule, budget and quality expectations are met in a fast-paced office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• Licensed Architect; NY State preferred
• Experience with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, construction, and structures
• Ability to manage projects and communicate with client teams effectively

Responsibilities

• Lead client, team and project coordination with full documentation coordination
• Manage client relationships and team communication
• Develop understanding of program requirements, standards and policies for project teams
• Lead various project team sizes for successful delivery
• Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team during documentation and construction administration
• Produce drawings, specifications and construction administration tasks
• Maintain project manual and specifications
• Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
• Interface with officials during permitting and construction phases
• Lead construction meetings with client and contractor
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of work and clear communication
