Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Design Manager to lead corporate interiors projects across industries in New York. You will guide project setup, design, and construction administration, while communicating clear objectives and managing teams of architects, interior designers, and coordinators.

Ideal candidates have 12-15 years of project management experience, lifecycle knowledge, and proven client relationship skills. A degree in Architecture or Interior Design is required; Licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of related experience as a project manager on Retail projects.
• Experience across the full lifecycle, through post-occupancy.
• Experience leading and mentoring multiple project teams.
• Experience negotiating project scope and fees.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards and structures.
• Demonstrated fiscal accountability on projects.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship skills.
• Revit skills are highly valued.
• Must maintain and grow client relationships.
• Accredited degree in Architecture or Interior Design required.
• AIA, NCIDQ or CID preferred.
• Base salary range: $110-140k plus bonuses and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of corporate interiors projects from setup through construction administration.
• Create and communicate clear project objectives and requirements.
• Manage scheduling, budgets, and coordination with sub-contractors and consultants.
• Lead project teams including architects, interior designers, job captains and graphic designers.
• Track financial performance of projects.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding.
• Ensure projects conform to contract.
