Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years of experience in the design and documentation of projects, with at least five years as a Project Architect.
• Substantial experience in construction document preparation, field observation, knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
• Experience dealing with governmental agencies and building/zoning codes, and coordination with consultants.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as time management skills.
• Ability to demonstrate full knowledge of industry practices and a proven track record of quality control on complex assignments.
• Requires judgment based on precedent and policy in developing actions.
• Thorough understanding of sustainable practices and industry standards.
• California license preferred; LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide design teams through design and technical development on multiple projects.
• Perform risk management reviews and manage all technical documents through construction phases.
• Lead and mentor staff, and develop marketing materials and project narratives.
• Participate in marketing meetings and interviews.
• Represent the Firm in external professional organizations and events.
• Develop white papers and thought leadership pieces for industry organizations.
• Conduct on-site observations and prepare observation reports.
• Coordinate with planning, building, fire and other authorities for approvals and permits.
