Job summary

Farnsworth Group in Iowa seeks a Project Architect to lead multidisciplinary teams from design through construction, coordinating architecture, interiors, landscape, and MEP to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will build strong client relationships, pursue marketing opportunities, and mentor junior staff while advancing a diverse portfolio in municipal, commercial, and higher education markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Registered Architect (NCARB preferred)
• 10+ years of architectural design and planning experience in core markets
• Proven project management and supervisory experience
• Strong client relationship development experience
• Proficient use of Revit; experience with Enscape, Lumion, Bluebeam and Office preferred
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Understand all aspects of the design process and project complexities, contributing to success while adhering to goals and standards.
• Respond to technical implications, design decisions and project financial goals.
• Coordinate project documentation development and deliverables.
• Manage project QA and adherence to Farnsworth Group standards.
• Lead coordination among internal disciplines and external consultants.
• Communicate with clients on technical matters.
• Administer regulatory reviews and AHJ coordination.
• Lead construction contract administration activities.
• Maintain awareness of evolving building technology.
• Contribute to project marketing, proposals, and interviews.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
