Job summary

Farnsworth Group seeks a Project Architect to lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage projects from design through construction, and build strong client relationships while contributing to marketing and business development efforts.

You will work on municipal, commercial, and higher education markets with a hybrid work program, supporting a rapidly growing office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program; Masters preferred.
  • Registered Architect (NCARB preferred, but not required).
  • 10+ years of work experience in architectural design and planning.
  • Demonstrated project management and supervisory experience.
  • Success in developing new clients and maintaining client relationships.
  • Proficient use of Revit a plus; experience with Enscape/Lumion/Bluebeam/Office helpful.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across disciplines.
  • Manage projects from design through construction and client relations.
  • Coordinate project documentation and deliverables with QA and standards.
  • Oversee regulatory reviews and submissions to authorities.
  • Lead construction phase activities including submittals, RFIs, and closeout.
  • Contribute to project marketing pursuits and interviews.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building tech and systems relevant to projects.

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Project Architect in the below posting location. We are looking for a highly motivated professional to help grow our presence in the municipal, commercial, and higher education markets. In this role, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, manage projects from design through construction, and build strong client relationships while contributing to marketing and business development efforts. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, collaborate with talented professionals across disciplines, and be part of a rapidly growing office supported by Farnsworth Group's established national architectural practice.

What You’ll Do:
  • Understand all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, project management, execution and living design.
  • Understand and respond to technical implications, design decisions and project financial goals.
  • Coordinate project documentation development and the production of deliverable drawings and specifications.
  • Manage project Quality Assurance and adherence with FGI standards
  • Lead project coordination efforts among internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, structural and MEP engineering) and with external consultants.
  • Communicate with clients related to project technical matters.
  • Administer project regulatory reviews (building code, accessibility, zoning) and coordination with, and submission to, authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Lead construction contract administration responsibilities including: submittal review and response, RFI review and response, field observation and reporting and project closeout.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and engineering systems relevant to project work.
  • Contribute to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation and interviews.
  • Demonstrate strong and effective communication, decision making and collaboration, which inspires high team performance.
  • Mentor junior staff through project work, technical guidance, and day-to-day support
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Architecture, from an accredited program, required; Masters preferred
  • Registered Architect (NCARB preferred, but not required)
  • 10+ years of work experience in architectural design and planning within core markets
  • Demonstrated project management and supervisory experience
  • Success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Proficient use of Revit a plus.
  • Experience with Enscape, Lumion, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills

Salary Range: $88,000-$115,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
