Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Archaeologist to support cultural resources programs across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. You will lead archaeological investigations, coordinate field crews, and contribute to Phase I–III studies on private and government projects.

The role requires a Master’s in archaeology, 7+ years in CRM, NHPA compliance, and strong technical writing. Some travel within the region is expected; primary locations include Richmond/Williamsburg area.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in cultural resources positions
• 7+ years of experience in cultural resource management and archaeological compliance surveys in the Northeast region
• Experience leading field crews and NHPA compliance
• Strong skills in technical writing

Responsibilities

• Act as task manager for complex cultural resource investigations
• Supervise activities of field personnel and maintain field records
• Apply goals and strategies in Phase I–III archaeological investigations
• Contribute to archaeological assessment and Phase I–III reports
• Liaise between cultural resources team and project managers for large projects
• Travel within the Mid-Atlantic region; additional travel possible
