Job summary

Stantec, a leading environmental consulting firm, seeks a senior cultural resources leader to guide Phase I–II studies and NEPA-related work in the western U.S. You will manage large field studies, mentor teams, and drive business development while representing Stantec in southwestern markets.

Required are a MS in cultural resources or archaeology, RPA preferred, and extensive experience with regulatory compliance (NHPA) and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Professional writing, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Experience leading Phase I and II Cultural Resource Surveys in the southwest.
• Determin­ations of Eligibility for National/Register of Historic Places and California Register.
• Permitted on State and Federal Lands in AZ/NM or able to obtain permits within 6 months.
• NHPA Section 106/110 consultations and impact assessment.
• MoA and Programmatic Agreements experience.
• Data Recovery and Monitoring Plans.
• Historic Property Treatment Plans.
• Ethnographic Research and Native American Consultation.
• NAGPRA Consultation and leadership in field coordination.
• GIS/GPS mapping direction for teams.

Responsibilities

• Technical resource lead and principal investigator for complex cultural resource investigations across multiple sectors.
• Mentor and supervise staff; grow a SW-based cultural resources team.
• Program and financial management for key client programs.
• Ensure high-quality technical products via review protocols.
• Lead business development and client relationship building.
• Lead proposal development: scope, budget, schedule.
• Maintain professional profile via professional organizations and client contacts.
• Client-facing and internal leadership at Stantec in the SW market.
