Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Project Archaeologist with experience in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions, NHPA Section 106 compliance, and state regulations.

This role supports a growing cultural resources team across private and public sector clients in the Eastern Region. Responsibilities include task management, field crew supervision, and technical reporting under senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology and Historic Preservation
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or qualifying to become an RPA
• Experience leading and managing field investigations
• Strong technical writing skills
• Experience with GIS and digital data collection methods

Responsibilities

• Act as task manager for complex cultural resource investigations
• Supervise field personnel and manage field equipment
• Apply archaeological assessment methods and Phase I–III investigations
• Contribute to archaeological reports and documentation
• Coordinate with project managers and field staff
• Ensure HSSE policies and safety guidelines are followed
• Mentor staff and provide technical direction
• Travel within the Mid-Atlantic region required
