Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Finance professional to oversee accounting operations for large construction projects. You will drive financial reporting, internal controls, and contract analysis for complex structures, including joint ventures and national clients.

You will partner with project teams to optimize profitability, manage audits, and guide cash flow strategy while maintaining strict compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required with 4+ years of related experience.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting concepts for construction projects.
• Experience supervising/leading project accounting teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee procedures supporting accounting operations for complex construction projects.
• Coordinate project accounting staff and training materials for consistent processes.
• Communicate financial strategies and performance to Finance and project teams using dashboards.
• Lead contract analysis on billing terms, rates, and risk; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Ensure internal controls over A/P, A/R, and compliance with policies.
• Manage audit activity and remediation actions for projects and joint ventures.
• Oversee cash flow strategy, profitability, and risk mitigation with cross-functional teams.
• Supervise subcontractor invoicing and ensure proper approvals and insurance.
• Oversee month-end close and revenue recognition aligned with GAAP and policy.
