Job summary

Grayson Search Partners is recruiting a Senior Project Accountant for a leading Chicago real estate development company to support accounting and financial reporting on active development projects.

You will prepare monthly financials, track project costs, review invoices and contracts, assist with draws and forecasting, and collaborate with internal teams. A strong background in construction accounting and advanced Excel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong project accounting experience in development or construction.
• Experience with project costs, budgets, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financials, reconciliations, journal entries, and project reporting
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and variances
• Review invoices, contracts, change orders, and construction-related expenditures
• Assist with project draws, forecasting, and profitability analysis
• Partner with development, construction, finance, and other internal teams
• Support audits and process improvement initiatives
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff
