Job summary

Hines is seeking a Senior Project Accountant for Property and Development Accounting in Chicago. You will ensure accurate financial reporting for a specific project or entity, collaborating with the Controller and Project Manager to maintain GAAP compliance and timely draws.

The role covers funding requests, treasury duties, AR analysis, month-end close, journal entry review, fixed assets, budgeting, audits, and tax workpapers. Chicago-based, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
• CPA designation preferred or in progress.
• Public accounting or professional accounting experience with real estate emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting information for a project or entity.
• Collaborate with Controller, Project Manager, and Accountants to ensure GAAP compliance and proper construction draws.
• Prepare funding requests to investors and lenders.
• Perform treasury functions including wire payments for distributions and debt service.
• Review AR aging, assess collectability, and recommend reserves or write-offs.
• Maintain month-end close processes and prepare reconciliations for complex areas.
• Record journal entries and review entries prepared by others for accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules with the PM for accuracy.
