Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least five years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or real estate.
• Experience with the construction lifecycle and entity structures typical of affordable housing developments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with auditors, property management, lenders, and general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee job cost accounting and accounts payable for development projects in coordination with HRED.
• Maintain general ledgers for development entities, including journal entries and cost capitalization.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts across enterprise and development projects.
• Prepare and review project-level trial balance reconciliations.
• Monitor and analyze development project cash balances.
• Support construction draws, funding requests, and disbursements.
• Perform treasury functions for development projects, including cash management activities.
• Lead year-end close and support audits for development entities.
• Coordinate with auditors on cost certifications, eliminating entries, and Form 8609 documentation.
• Review and guide Project Accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance in reporting.
