Addison Group is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support project financial performance, cost analysis, and forecasting across multiple operating divisions. The role partners with operations and project management to improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and cost control.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of cost accounting experience, strong accounting fundamentals, and the confidence to interact with stakeholders at various levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, project accounting, or related discipline.
• Experience analyzing project costs, budgets, revenue forecasts, or financial performance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

About the Opportunity

A well-established, growing organization in the electrical contracting and construction services industry is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support project financial performance, cost analysis, and forecasting across multiple operating divisions.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, partner closely with operations and project management, and contribute to improving financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and cost control. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, analytical ability, and the confidence to work with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project costs, budgets, and financial performance in partnership with division and project management teams.
• Identify financial risks, investigate variances, and present findings and recommendations to finance leadership.
• Prepare and maintain revenue forecasts, backlog reporting, and other financial analyses for management.
• Support the preparation of divisional financial reports, budgets, and other accounting documentation.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of cost accounting processes and systems.
• Analyze job costs and budgets to support accurate financial reporting and operational decision‑making.
• Prepare financial information for bids, proposals, and other business development initiatives.
• Perform internal reviews and audits to evaluate the accuracy and consistency of financial information.
• Partner with project management to resolve costing issues and improve reporting processes.
• Support month‑end financial reviews and provide guidance to operations teams on accounting procedures and systems.
• Mentor and train junior members of the cost accounting team.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of policies, procedures, and financial reporting tools.
• Travel periodically to regional offices to support operations, conduct financial reviews, and provide training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, project accounting, or a related discipline.
• Experience analyzing project costs, budgets, revenue forecasts, or financial performance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Oracle or another ERP / project management system is preferred.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate professionally with finance, operations, project management, and leadership teams.
