Job summary

Wolseley Canada is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst at the Burlington location to develop, maintain, and support critical business applications on the IBM i/AS400 platform. The role requires strong RPG and COBOL programming skills, project leadership through the full SDLC, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will review solutions, manage timelines, and participate in code reviews, testing, and go-live support.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with hands-on programming experience; or equivalent.
• 5+ years programming experience on IBM System i, RPG IV, RPG Free, ILE using SEU, SDA, embedded SQL, stored procedures, service programs, modules, binding and activation groups.
• 4+ years experience in COBOL batch and interactive programs on the iSeries.
• Solid OS400 knowledge including Database, Query and Library/File structures.
• Experience with Aldon change management and ROBOT scheduler is an asset.
• Knowledge of Web Services on the iSeries is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications and perform programming, testing, and implementation to deliver high-quality business information processing systems.
• Develop and maintain applications on IBM i platform.
• Review proposed solutions using current programming practices and determine the most efficient method.
• Delivery of assigned projects through the entire SDLC on a committed timeline.
• Participate in technical walkthroughs, coding, code reviews, and testing phases (unit, system, QA/UAT).
• Provide support during Go-Live and post-deployment.
• Analyses, debugs and support existing application software.
