Job summary
Vaco by Highspring in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer to develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. Qualifications
- Professional experience developing applications with RPG on the IBM i platform.
- Experience with RPG IV, ILE RPG, CL, and DB2 for i.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
- Work with RPG III, RPG IV, ILE RPG, and Free-Form RPG
- Maintain applications developed with ASNA Visual RPG
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
- Support application modernization, system integration, and performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams
- Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards
- Participate in scheduled production support and on-call support as needed
