Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems is seeking a technical design and build Program Manager to oversee multi-million dollar fixed-price non-recurring engineering programs, focusing on payment and information solutions for intelligent travel apps in rail, subway, and bus. The role is customer-facing and centered in the Washington DC region with travel 10–20% and preference for residing in DC/Maryland/Virginia.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in electronic, software or mechanical engineering or related field with 8+ years of related experience.
• PMO or program management experience on high risk/high value programs preferred.
• MBA/advanced degree preferred.
• PMP certification highly recommended.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
• Ability to lead cross-functional program teams and manage interfaces with procurement, manufacturing, and finance.
• Knowledge of government procurement, contracting, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create a project management plan using PMO best practices and fit to stakeholders.
• Oversee all phases: proposal, design, procurement, production, testing, delivery, installation and acceptance.
• Develop and manage complex schedules (Primavera) with support.
• Ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Manage customer expectations and scope control.
• Maintain risk register and mitigate program risks.
• Present program status to executive leadership monthly.
• Coordinate with Product Development PMs and global/regional managers.
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
